Slavix – Alpha 1
Slavix is a web service that brings additional features to web sites. Current version of the service enables comment blocking on Youtube web site. Support for other features and sites may be added in the future.
Supported web pages
- Youtube’s video watching pages for any country (http://*.youtube.com/watch/*)
Current features
- Blocking and unblocking comments. If you block a comment, all comments by that person will appear hidden to you. Also, you will see how many other users of the service blocked comments by that person. (screen-shots of youtube’s commenting section below)
Slavix OFF
Slavix On

- Install Slavix Firefox add-on
- Restart Firefox
Method 2 - (Requires Firefox)
- Install Greasemonkey Firefox add-on
- Restart Firefox
- Install Slavix Greasemonkey script
Method 3 – (Requires modern web browser. Tested with Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, Internet Explorer)
This method is an easy way to try the service without installing anything. It uses a bookmarklet to manually start the service. First drag Slavix bookmarklet to your browser’s links toolbar. When you visit a web page supported by Slavix click on the bookmarklet to manually start the service. The limitation of this method is that the service needs to be restarted every time you reload a web page.
Let me know how you like the service and what features you want added next! Please report bugs or problems

Great!
Can you make a script that copies the “Lights Off” feature for YouTube Movies (click my name) for all of the YouTube videos? It hides the YouTube comments and fades the background. Here’s a preview of where to put the link.

Thanks for the idea! It looks like this feature is already available on certain videos on Youtube. It is probably only a matter of time before they enable it for all videos… but if you want it… it can be done! I will add it to the new features poll. Please vote for your favorite new feature. Keep those ideas coming!

Cool, thanks. I love the block user comment script. Makes YouTube so much more enjoyable.

This script blocks comments on another site:

based on assigning scores to certain patterns. It would be great if your script could do the same and get rid of stupid comments without having to manually block every user.

@Robert (Jamie) Munro
I could however use a filter to auto-hide comments with profanity. Vote for your favorite feature in the “Next Feature” poll and the most popular ones will get implemented. You can also take a look at YouTube Comment Snob for a feature similar to what you have described.
Thanks. I am hardly qualified to determine “stupid” comments automatically
